Dr. Sukhraj Singh Bajwa

Educator | Author | Researcher | Environmentalist | Spiritual & Meditation Guide | Founder of Mission Alhna

Dr. Sukhraj Singh Bajwa is an educator, author, researcher, environmental advocate and spiritual guide whose work brings together science, education, psychology, environmental conservation and human well-being. Born on 27 January 1972 in Ajmer, Rajasthan, he spent an important part of his formative years in Sri Ganganagar, where he studied at Kendriya Vidyalaya and distinguished himself as a hockey captain, developing an early sense of discipline, leadership and teamwork.

Driven by a deep interest in science and nature, Dr. Bajwa completed his M.Sc. in Botany from SGN Khalsa College, Sri Ganganagar. He later earned a B.Ed. from Government College of Education, Jalandhar, followed by a Master's in Education from Panjab University, Chandigarh. His growing interest in human behaviour and emotional well-being inspired him to pursue a Master's degree in Psychology, and he subsequently earned his doctorate from D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune.

A Career Dedicated to Education

Dr. Bajwa began his teaching career at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Lalgarh Jattan, where his commitment to education was recognised when Brigadier I. S. Janghu honoured him as Best Teacher.

He later joined the Bihani Education Trust, Sri Ganganagar, serving as Head of Department (Science) at BCA, before continuing his career as a science teacher in Punjab.

For Dr. Bajwa, education has never been confined to textbooks or examinations. His approach emphasises scientific curiosity, independent thinking, environmental awareness, compassion and responsible citizenship. This philosophy has gradually connected his role as an educator with his work as a researcher, writer and environmental advocate.

Research and Academic Contributions

Dr. Bajwa's research reflects his interdisciplinary background and his interest in subjects that directly affect society, agriculture, health and education.

His research on the impact of genetically modified crops on human health was published in the International Journal of All Research Education and Scientific Method.

Another research paper, “A Study of the Correlation Between Educator's Stress and Job Satisfaction: The Moderating Influence of Educator's Emotions,” was published in the Journal of Emerging Technologies and Innovative Research (JETIR).

His third reported research work, “Glyphosate Sustainability: Evaluating the Environmental and Human Health Trade-Offs of Glyphosate Use in Agriculture,” reflects his continuing engagement with questions surrounding agriculture, environmental sustainability and human health.

These subjects demonstrate an approach to research that connects academic inquiry with real-world concerns.

The Author: Nine Books, Three Languages, One Expanding Vision

Writing occupies a special place in Dr. Sukhraj Singh Bajwa's life. A multilingual author, he writes in English, Hindi and Punjabi, using both literature and non-fiction to explore environmental, psychological, social, scientific and philosophical themes.

He is the author of nine books, each representing a different dimension of his intellectual journey:

1. The Power of Nature: Healing, Harmony and Conservation — A work centred on humanity's relationship with nature, its restorative possibilities and the importance of environmental conservation.

2. From Villages to City: Gains, Losses and the Journey of Transformation — An exploration of the changes accompanying the transition from traditional village environments to urban life, examining both the opportunities created by modernisation and the values or connections that may be lost along the way.

3. The Impact of GM Crops on Human Health — Emerging from his scientific and research interests, the book engages with questions surrounding biotechnology, agriculture and human health.

4. Timeless Connections — A work reflecting his interest in relationships, enduring human bonds and the values that continue to connect people across changing times.

5. Silent Cries, Heavy Hearts – The Reality of Mental Stress — Closely connected with his background in psychology, this book addresses mental and emotional stress and reflects his concern for psychological well-being.

6. Gender Wars — A work engaging with contemporary questions surrounding gender, interpersonal relationships and changing social dynamics.

7. जंगल के चार दोस्त – एकता और साहस की कहानी — A Hindi story centred on the values of unity, friendship and courage, demonstrating Dr. Bajwa's ability to communicate meaningful ideas through accessible storytelling.

8. शैतान की आत्मकथा (Shaitan Ki Atamkatha) — One of his particularly thought-provoking works, the book uses the metaphor of Satan to question humanity's destructive relationship with nature. It examines the contradiction of human beings possessing knowledge and intelligence while continuing to damage the environment for narrow and short-term interests.

9. ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੋਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੱਕ (Making of God) — A Punjabi work representing the spiritual and philosophical dimension of his writing and his exploration of the human journey toward deeper awareness.

The diversity of these books is significant. Environmental conservation, biotechnology, social transformation, mental stress, gender, human relationships, children's literature and spirituality may initially appear to belong to different worlds, yet in Dr. Bajwa's writing they are connected by a common concern: understanding human beings and their relationship with society, nature and themselves.

His contribution to writing extends beyond books. Dr. Bajwa has published more than 100 articles in newspapers and magazines in India and Canada, including leading Punjabi publications. Through these writings, he seeks to raise people's issues, encourage awareness and stimulate meaningful discussion about social and environmental concerns.

Mission Alhna: Protecting Nature and Native Birds

Dr. Bajwa's environmental philosophy finds practical expression through Mission Alhna, an initiative he founded with the purpose of helping protect the habitats of native birds.

The idea is simple but meaningful: protecting birds requires protecting the ecosystems they call home. Trees are not merely vegetation; they provide nesting spaces, shelter and food while supporting a much wider network of biodiversity.

A passionate bird watcher and plantation enthusiast, Dr. Bajwa promotes tree planting, wildlife conservation and environmental awareness. Through Mission Alhna, his personal connection with nature has evolved into a wider community-oriented conservation effort.

His social contribution has also been recognised with the Samaj Ratna Award from Bhai Ghanayiya Charitable Trust. He has additionally received an honorary doctorate.

Bajwa Farm, Permaculture and Sukh Ashram

Dr. Bajwa currently resides in Village Rajwan, Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, where another important chapter of his journey is taking shape.

At Bajwa Farm, he practices permaculture and nature-based sustainable agriculture, bringing his academic knowledge of Botany and his environmental philosophy into everyday practice. For him, sustainability is not merely something to write or speak about—it is something to be lived.

Bajwa Farm is also home to Sukh Ashram, his meditation and natural-therapy centre. Drawing upon his interests in psychology, meditation and spirituality, Dr. Bajwa provides spiritual guidance and encourages people to explore ways of living with greater peace, balance and reduced stress.

People's concerns are heard, and efforts are made to help them approach their challenges with greater clarity and emotional balance. The peaceful natural setting of the farm complements this philosophy, bringing together nature, meditation and inner well-being.

A Life Connecting Knowledge, Nature and Humanity

The professional journey of Dr. Sukhraj Singh Bajwa extends far beyond a single designation. He is an educator who has dedicated years to teaching, a researcher who examines contemporary questions, a multilingual author who communicates across diverse subjects, and an environmental advocate who translates ecological concern into practical conservation.

His interests in writing, plantation, bird watching, trekking, meditation and spiritual guidance further reflect a life shaped by curiosity about both nature and human consciousness.

From classrooms and research journals to books and newspapers, from Mission Alhna to Bajwa Farm and Sukh Ashram, the different dimensions of his work are united by a consistent purpose: to educate, create awareness, protect nature and contribute to a more thoughtful, balanced and sustainable way of life.

Dr. Bajwa's journey ultimately represents the meeting of knowledge and responsibility, science and spirituality, nature and humanity—a continuing endeavour to ensure that education is not merely acquired, but transformed into meaningful action.
